Returning a £80 microwave to Comet no recept?

Hello!
My mother bought a Microwave last Friday (I think) and the employee at Comet did not give my mother a wallet for the recept. So she carried this heavy microwave to her car and got home and realised that it was not the right size. So she wants to take it back but lost the recept as it did not come with the recept wallet that all comet products usually come with.
Can we still get a refund?

Probably not, comets policy (from their website) is:Changing your mind:
If your product is brand new, unused and the box is unopened
Just take it back to a Comet store with your receipt within 28 days (14 days for a computer). We'll either give you a full refund or a gift card - it's up to you.
You have no legal right to get a refund if you change your mind. Nor are comet required to give you a wallet⚠ 2014 - COUNTDOWN TO INDEPENDENCE ⚠0 -
She is not legally entitled to one, but she could call and ask if they would exchange it as a goodwill gesture.0

Their returns policy: http://comet.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44/~/returns-policy
Not this bit:Just take it back to a Comet store with your receipt within 28 days
If its opened, note this bit:If you've opened the box
As long as you've not actually used the product, the process is the same. But if the item costs £25 or more, there's a restocking fee of 10% of the original price up to a maximum of £99. This pays for repackaging and restocking.
To avoid this fee you can ask for a gift card credit for the full value.0 -
Did she pay by card? I returned an unused item to Comet once and had lost my receipt, though the item did have a little Comet security sticker on it.
I returned it about 2 weeks after purchase, and being as they traced the transaction with the card I'd used, they gave me a full refund. I was pleased as I know there is no legal requirement for them to have done this, so it might depend on the store ?0 -
Also, is it a brand only sold by Comet?Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0
