Turfing over flower beds

We have a relatively large back garden and seem to have spent most of the weekends throughout the summer months endlessly weeding flower beds - I would like to reduce the amount of beds and make more lawn, what is the best way to go about it, I don't want to turf over it now and find in the spring all the weeds start growing through the newly laid lawn?
Just keep swimming!

You can easily spray weeds with selective weed killer. I would dig over the beds and remove all roots you can find, then compact by foot before topping up the level, compacting by foot a couple of times during levelling. Turf should sit slightly proud of the general lawn surface as it will settle a bit over time. Good time of year just now for it.0

Why not use seed rather than turf, it will work out cheaper and IME it works really well....{Signature removed by Forum Team}0
