Hello all , I`m having a problem with FORD and my van , the side window is nearly falling out and the noise is so loud its hurting my ears .
I have contacted Ford and they are just fobbing me off even though Autowindscreens said the problem was a massive problem on the 07 plate transit and Fords Tech guy said it was a massive problem .
I have made a video of my complaint and posted it on youtube here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QQ0WIZlr0E&feature=player_profilepage , I have added comments on the ford uk channel about it and the ford europe channel but they just delete them so i added them again and they deleted them again .
What can I do ?
TIA

Where and when did you buy the van, was there a warranty with it, is it still under the manufacturers warranty.
Just because you have a problem doesn't make Ford automatically liable for it.
Your first port of call should be to the person who sold you it, if it was a dealer you may have recourse against them, if it was private you will not have much chance of getting the seller to deal with it.
A little bit more info on who you bought it off may help get you better responses.0 -

I bought it brand new in 2007 , from a ford dealer , it is that dealership which has said "yep we see loads of them massive problem" . The van had ford warranty and when that expired I bought Ford extended warranty . Ford extended warranty have said its not covered as the seal is classed as trim . They gave me a number to ring at Ford and all they wanted to do was offer me a free service . I don`t want a free service I want the window fixing , becasue Autowindscreens said it was a massive problem along with Fords own engineer and that the problem is the glue has failed.Arf :think:0 -
How much would Autowindscreens charge to fix it? (Putting aside principle, what's the financial scope here?)0

What's the value of the free service that you have been offered?
Is it anywhere near the cost of the window repair?
If so, why do you not want to accept that?0 -

looked at the video
if its just the side quarter window as you say in the video, theses are not expensive.
we had to replace ours after someoen smashed it and to replace the window was only £88 so to have this replaired (reselaled will not be as much) so just pay this and get on with your business0 -
Exactly why I asked.0
-
if your business is VAT registered then you would be able to claim back the VAT
you can then take fords offer of a free service which is not cheap on a transit0 -
The window replacement is £200
I can`t have a ford service FOC unless I cancel my ford service plan which means i lose my discount .
I though this was money saving , i just can`t see why I have to pay when its the glue thats faulty and they have admitted that .
Autowindscreens have stated the window can not be re-sealedArf :think:0 -

The £200 will be a ford dealer price. have you checked other garages, even try some van hire centres that hire transits. i am not talking large nation chains, but local hire centres.
it only cost me £88 to have a quarter window replaced with a local van hire centre0 -
The van is nearly 5 years old, these things happen and sometimes you just have to get on with it and accept that these things happen. Remember the key thing here is the age of the van, its not like it just rolled of the production line.0
