iPad 2 smart covers?

Hi
I have won an iPad 2. While I am waiting for it I have been looking for a good cover as I am accident prone. The apple Smart Cover looks great, but I can't really justify the £35 expense. There are some third party ones that basically look the same for about £10- has anybody tried them? Are they okay to use, will they have any bad effect on the iPad? Or is there another case that is just as good?
Any advice much appreciated.

I've got an official smart cover, not that impressed its magnetic and has scratched the side of the iPad. I'm thinking of changing to something else that protects the back which the smart cover doesn't.0

I got one of these eleven quid covers a few weeks back and so far, I'm very pleased with it:

I have just received a http://www.amazon.co.uk/Targus-Slim-Portfolio-Case-iPad/dp/B004M4OVGY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320063348&sr=8-2
I use my iPad mainly for watching movies, chatting to friends online and other things, so this case (although doesnt 100% protect the sides of the case) is great for me as it is a landscape orientated stand.
A bit more expensive than budget ones, but you get what you pay for (unless its a smart cover). Unfortunately it doesn't have the magnet to waken it up from sleep, but thats what the home button is forTech Savvy Student trying to help and learn

Get an Otterbox, bullet-proof cover albeit mine is for an Ipad 1. Google it for deals.0

I'd vouch for this. I've had mine for a few months now and it is indeed a very good case for the money.0
