Attempting to make Chicken & Leek Risotto tomorrow (1st time):D
It's a bit of a "clart" (which is why I've not done it before) but I love risotto so not really a good excuse!;)
Anyway, I'm bound to have some left over so ... can I reheat it? If so, how?
I know you've got to be really careful reheating rice and it's not something I usually do because of this.
Thanks:)

I don't, just in case... But I do love cold risotto so use up left overs the next day for lunch. But I had risotto balls at a pub meal last year - they'd taken risotto, made it into balls & fried it, so I guess you can re-heat it?0

Ohhhh, I've never thought about eating it cold, that may well be an option, thanks.
Just thinking I could use what's left for lunch on Sunday.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I've reheated (and frozen) it several times as always make too much and it's always been fine.
I just stick it in the microwave until it's really hot.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

I reheat it in the microwave for lunch at work. It usually needs a bit of extra water or stock as it can dry out but I just make sure it's super hot and I've not yet had any problems. I think it's even nicer reheated!0

Thanks both.
Will see how much there's left - if not too much, cold for lunch & if loads, may think about reheating in the m/wave.:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Agreed, I too reheat rice, risotto in particular, all the time with no ill effects. I love risotto and make it regularly with the left-overs from roast chicken (having used the carcass to make my stock) and always make enough for the immediate meal and extra to split into portions and freeze for another day.If you feel my comments are helpful then I'd love it if you 'Thanked' me!0

Fantastic!:D
You've put my mind at rest and I may well make the full recipe now (was going to try to 1/2 it) and freeze some.
I'm def going to try it cold tho' - just to see what it's like!:) (I like cold rice pudding so .....)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Some even freeze it
Reheating rice is always a contentious issue on OS but as long as you cool it safely etc and heat through until piping hot - i personally have never had a problem. It is good to be aware of the risks of course
this thread will also help - ill merge this later
