Strange things afoot...
Clicked onto DT and up pops the list of threads... click on a thread, read, back to thread list... but now it's the list from 45 minutes ago!
Went out to 'Forum', tried it again, did the same thing!
Edit: Hmmm... last post showing 6.47pm now.... so half an hour not 45 mins.

Maybe it's stuck in reverse?
Hi Fermi  It was starting out up-to-the-moment then dropping back half an hour after I clicked on threads.
However it seems to be OK tonight...0 -

Maybe you've got some malware or bugs and it's showing a cache from memory for some reason.
Is it showing pages that you've already looked at in which case that would perhaps imply that it's malware that's already on your computer pulling up stuff that's already in your memory.
However if it's showing ones that you haven't looked at, well, that's a bit odd. Maybe that would mean that you computer is searching out stuff on MSE so maybe it's a keylogger looking for data that looks like credit card or bank account numbers and it's finding and locking onto various pages that it thinks might be suitable. Maybe. I'm just theorising here, of course, maybe that's not likely or possible.
If other people report the same thing then just possibly it's a bug and or malware on the MSE servers. But if it's just you and noone else then that would probably suggest that it's your computer causing it.
Anyway, Avast do a free malware killer that is commonly thought to be fairly effective, as far as such things go.
So if you haven't already got it then perhaps download it and do a sweep of your machine.
If you've already got other virus catcher(s) installed then possibly running Avast as well might conflict in which case see if you can turn off - but not delete - the one(s) you've already got then try running Avast again.
If it persists after a clean then, well, if you don't mind it happening then maybe just ignore it.
But if it's too much nuisance then maybe it's time to wipe your machine and reinstall all the software and see if that clears it. What a bore, what a nuisance, what a palaver.
And or get a techie friend to have a look or pay a techie to have a look.
Hope this helps.0 -
Ah, that sounds likely Mostly Cheerful
(considering occasional odd happenings outside MSE.) Thanks for the advice :A
