Recovery of data

My hard-drive failed for the second time, so i had it replaced. The computer shop recovered the data from the corrupt drive, but only recovered it from my wife's logon. I have lots of pictures/files that I want to recover. Is it easy to connect up the old drive to the pc and recover the files? If so how do i go about it?
Thanks in advance
