Hi,
I recently had an issue/noise with my car and the garage told me it was my bearings (front right), we then replaced the bearing and the noise was still there...
he then decided to check further and got hold of another set of wheels the same as my cars to see if it was def the bearing, as he couldn't decide where the noise was now coming from. He then told me that we would replace the front left - and if that didn't work to replace the back 2 - it didn't work.
This as you can imagine already had cost a small fortune and since he now didn't have a clue where the noise was coming from, I wasn't keen to give him the go ahead to do the back two... ....I was also skint as he had charged me £400 for the front 2 and it would be another £300 for the back 2.
I left it a while to think what to do next and on a spur of the moment took it into my local budget garage - they checked it, and came back with the simple answer that I needed to replace my 2 back tyres... ...the noise is now gone - they were just old and although the tred was ok, the tyres had deformed and had flat areas rather than round. The new garage also said, that they couldn't understand why the 1st garage didn't check this first, before starting on what has been and could have been expensive process.
I am now not sure what to do about the other garage, should I try and get my money back because he obviously never check this after having my car in for at least 6 days, "to find out where the noise was coming from", or cut my losses?
hope you can help.

Cut your losses, dont use the idiot again, as if 4 wheel bearings fail at once...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Whilst all four bearings might not fail at once, I certainly know many people would leave them until it had got to the point where all four had packed up.0
