Car insurance Rip Off

Had my son's renewal from Admiral today. He's young (22) and last year his premium was just over £1000. This year it came in at £1208 so taking Martin's advice I checked on the usual websites and Elephant came up with a price of £760. After checking I had entered the same details, I called Admiral to cancel the automatic renewal etc.
I guess I was expecting them to look again at their price and when I told them I was going with Elephant, they reminded me it was a "sister" company and they'd look at the quote I'd received. I was shocked when she not only matched the price ("saving" £468) but lowered it a further £15. Of course I'm very happy, but with a sour taste in the mouth that others could be ripped off by such huge sums. If there was another unconnected company with a similar quote, I'd probably choose them as I don't like dealing with people who operate like this.

Thats just shopping around, not a rip off at all. Its down to the customer to decide if the policy is a suitable price to pay.

its no rip off, if you take out an auto-renew policy, your the mug.
always take the renewal, check it on the web. ive bought new, with the same company, as a new customer, then cited themselves for the no claims history and got nearly 1/2 price in the past.

Cannot see a rip off in what has been written.
