Is it possible to put content of 3 dvds onto 1 dvd?

I recently got my wedding dvd's from the videographer and whilst I am pleased with the content, it is a pain that it comes in 3 separate dvds.

Is there anyway I could get the 3 dvds put onto 1 dvd?

I would hazzard a guess that its probably on 3 DVDs because it wont fit on 1 DVD. So the answer would be no, if thats the case.

What size files are on each of the disks?!

You can get a dual layer dvd which i think some have a maximum storage of about 40-50gb which should store them all on though i think youll need a dual layer burner someone would have to confirm that for me!?


Appologies im not sure you can get 40-50gb dl discs, maybe only on blu ray?!?!

Definately look in to dual layer discs though!

depends on the size of what you have got, if they are 4.7GB each, not without reducing quality or using a higher capacity/format disc

if you want to watch them on a laptop, you could copy them to iso files and play with vlc, which will also back them up.

Dual Layer is 8.5GB.

As others have said, depends on how much is actually on each disk.

Also how do you want to play the Disk, would it be on PC or DVD player. Need to check to see if they can play Dual Layer as well

up to 2 hours of video on a standard single layer DVD will give good DVD quality on even a large (or projector) screen. If you compress the video even more, at 3 hours to 4 hours on a single DVD you will be getting VHS tape level of quality. If you want to compress DVD video you can use the programs Nero recode, or DVDshrink (free download) (for example) to do it. So, as is said above, how much video have you got in total, and what level of quality do you want? Good Luck.

You can easily reduce the quality of the 3 DVDs to fit onto one DVD using DVDshrink (as just mentioned) or DVDfab, but if it's wedding video, do you really want to do that??

I know its a pain, but you got married. Changing the disks won't make your wedding day any less memorable and beautiful.

You can always wait until Blu-ray starts to get to the affordable level where burners and discs are cheap, then you can combine them onto one disc easily.

For playback on computers you could convert them to avi format and get all three on one disk without noticeable loss of quality.

Some DVD players will play them back, too.
