hi ya girls a guys i want to open one of these accounts tomorow im goin to give them 150 pounds to start with then a standing order from the 1st of febuary for the same amount is this right or can i make another payment in january thanks in advance.

You can only make one payment into the account each calendar month. They also insist that the first payment is made by cheque (although one MSE has stated that they allowed him to make an initial cash deposit, as he was an existing Skipton customer).

You can open your account with a cheque (payable to yourself) and then setup a standing order from 1st Feb.

Important: Skipton use Barclays as their clearing bank. Therefore, if your standing order is coming from a Barclays current account ensure it goes out no earlier than the 1st of each month. The payment will leave a Barclays current account and arrive in the Christmas Saver on the same day.
