Delete doc on wordpad

On my netbook, I have word pad, which is adequate for me, but as yet I haven't found how to delete documents. Does anyone know please.

Same as any other file, in Explorer, right click and choose from the options.

I almost added that right clicking isn't the answer, because rt clicking give two options only, 1 show quick access toolbar etc and 2 minimize the ribbon

Open Explorer, navigate to folder containing the file you want to delete.
Highlight it with left mouse click, hit Delete key (on keyboard)

OK, so far almost so good. The actual docs have now gone, but the list of them is still visible in Recent Documents

Does it matter that they are visible in Recent Documents?

I don't suppose it does, but I tend to produce emails/letters when I'm travelling and invariably it is to the same people, then when I'm on-line, send them over. If I have half a dozen to each person, it will be hit and miss which is the right one. To remove them when sent, seems to be ideal.
