Advice needed on car insurance

Hi,
I had an accident with a pedestrian on my motorcycle June 2010. It wasn't my fault. I bought a car (as well as keeping the bike) in November 2010. I never delcared it as no-one complained and all was good.
February 2011 and the pedestrian decides to have a crack at a no-win no fee lawyer. Me and insurance company (after an investigation) deny liability. I send a letter telling the claimant a letter in June 2011 I will be suing her if she proceeds.
My car insurance is due in November 2011 and I am stuck. I now have an "accident not settled" dating nearly 18 months ago that was never my fault and the claimant has gone dead quiet. I don't want to get in contact for obvious reasons, but she is actually costing me money and hassle by just sitting on it.
Do I need to even declare motorcycle stuff on cars?
Advice please.

Most insurers need you to disclose claims/incidents/convictions etc whether you got them with a bike or a car.0 -
Ok that answers that.
So how long can this "claim" stay outstanding? It's cost me a lot of money as I am only 24. The reality is I have never had an accident that was my fault ever.
I could take your plate down and completely falsely say you hit me and you would immediately have to delcare it and start paying more! I think our insurance system is so unfair. Innocent until proven guilty is not existant, the system even hands out the punishment before the trial!0 -
What do you mean 'I will be suing her if she proceeds' yu said nothing was wrong. So what would yu be suing her for.
You did break your insurance T & Cs by not reporting the incident by the way, its in all Insurance t & cs that you agree to this.
When they finally did make the claim your insurance company could have cancelled/voided your current insurance and you would have had an awful job trying to find any other type of insurance, since all companies ask 'have you ever had a policy cancelled or voided'
You should think yourself lucky that they havent.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I believe they have up to 3 years to make a claim.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Yes you do.
I am currently paying around £1k more per year than I should and waiting for my solicitor and and my ex-car insurer try and sort out a settlement for them badly advising me otherwise and then cancelling my policy because they later turned-up my having an "undeclared" mc claim!:mad::mad:0 -

Suing? I suffered financial losses. In total around 1,000. Not including higher insurance premiums because of her unfair claim.
Why did I break which/what terms and conditions? By not reporting it immediately to the bike company (until her claim)?
The car insurance folks still have no idea because I took that out before her claim.0 -

Have you been advised by your insurer to sue the third party over this? If so, and it came as a result of you having "legal cover", then they should be pursuing the TP for the £1000, and funding a court case if necessary.
Your policy ts + cs require you to report incidents like this ASAP to your insurer after they happen. Also it seems you have never reported this to your car insurer, and should do so ASAP.0 -
No, my insurance is basic. They aren't interested in trying to get money out of pedestrians. The costs didn't happen all at once and so at the time I decided to let the matter go. I didn't want to trouble my insurance record and so that was that. I didn't think anymore about it until February of this year.
My bike insurance never said anything to me. I think they understood entirely why I didn't report it. Maybe they were just kind - but then insurance companies are not normally known for their generosity.
As for the car I am almost done and am in my final month. I won't renew it as they are way too expensive than other quotes I have had. Now I'm worried and quite in shock, I never meant to do anything wrong.
Not keen on phoning them up and telling them 2 weeks before they send my NCB letter that actually I "disceived" them and they then either send me a massive bill, refuse my 1 years NCB or worse as someone said void it and stuff. I paid £1400 for my car insurance and with my NCB my quotes are now at £550. I think you may appreciate my concerns!0
