I would edit your post I see you are on cable which probably means fixed IP address.
  • to find out what ram and processer you've got.
    click start
    go to my computer
    right-click and scroll to properties
on the general tab you will see it all there

    registered to:
    joe blogs

    computer
    AMD semprom (tm) processor
    3000+
    1.81GHz 1.00 GB of Ram

also to check your HD CD ROM etc

    click start
    click my computer

    shared docoments joe bloggs documents
    hard disk drive
    devices with removable storage
    scanners cameras

now on hard disk drive icon
    right clickand scroll to properties
this brings up another box with a big round cake where it says capacity this is how big your HD is for example say I had an 80gb HD it would say 76.3 GB which means its an 80gb HD

    Only you can edit it.

Just delete the three lines that start...

    Existing Ndis2 Driver...
    Servers...
    194...

That should do it, I think.

  • Think Ive sorted it now - message seems to have gone - phew that was a worry. Thanks for all your help. Will use the Start/Properties etc as advised by computerwoman and not post it!
  • Have been following advice on post 5 to check how big my hard drive is and my 'specs' as this computer was given to me I've no idea of what it does. I have 2 questions:

    1.
my c drive says 45.2 used 7.09 gb free
my d drive says 4.16 used 2.98 gb free

Do I add the45.2, 7.09, 4.16 and 2.98 together to get my HD ie
    approx 60 GB?

    2. My computer is 256mb RAM - is this a big memory size or note.

Are these specs small by today's standards. Only need computer for WP, EMail, Internet and possibly games?

    1. Not sure whether you have two separate drives here (one for backup?) or more likely just one partitioned to two drives. But in either case your total capacity is as you say the sum of the four figures.

    2. I ran Windows XP with 256 MB for a couple of years and it was okay for my purposes. I now have 512 MB and it runs faster. Depends partly on what games you are running. You would see an improvement in performance with 512 MB.
