    Do you know how many years that represents? If it's only a couple of years arrears then that's ridiculously high and if it's a long time then there is a greater argument that a) they should have done a proper bill before now (not estimated) and b) that a proportion of the debt predates the bankruptcy and would therefore fall into it?
    I can't believe that they wouldn't do a proper bill every so often?
    Why do you not believe you are covered by the back billing rules? Is it because you are not supplied by one of the big 6? If so I would argue that that's the industry standard. Also they have to prove that they have asked for full meter readings - can they do this?
    For the sake of 5k out of the blue I would be inclined to stick up for myself and make them prove it all.
