Just wanted to wish you luck, we have a similar amount of unsecured debt (although you have a smaller mortgage and much more equity) so will be following you with interest.
I hope one day i will be able to call you Freeby too:D

Loving your diary Fby50! You are inspiring me on in my own debt busting!0

Love the car crash corner in our Mr A's.
Often get crisps, cat litter, toilet rolls etc just because of a tear or two.
Value products adorn my basket too:D. Alongside the whoopsies:rotfl:
I find that the best way to save money is just NOT to go to the shops. We all buy things that we think we need, but can live without.
This month i have just kept saying no, or let's wait and we've gone a whole month without those things and have money left:).0 -
It's Monday! Not sure whether to cheer or give it a big boo hiss.
Monday (cheer) is my tax credit day so my bank balance looks a little healthier and I have paid another bit of a catalogue debt. Not much and only the minimum payment
but after Christmas it will be going....going...gone. Tomorrow is Family Allowance day so another payment into bank account
immediately followed by another payment to a cc
.
Now, my powers of telepathy tell me that I know what you're all thinking. You're all thinking 'she's only making a minimum payment and is actually happy about it' BUT when I had my LBM in July I was making the minimum payment BUT late
thus incurring horrible charges. So now I am meeting all payment amounts and making them on time. This is huge for me. Also I am not rushing to a cashpoint to take out what I had just paid to that cc to pay another one (late). This is my idea of taking control.......for the moment. I need to get through Christmas  and then the control freak side of me will take over altogether.
Monday, I have to go to work (boo hiss). I actually love my job but the drive to and from gets me down (40 miles) and I would much rather be at home talking to my lovely diary and all you lovely people......but then wouldn't we all.
Hello :wave:to everyone who has posted and banwa you have no idea how excited I was that someone has actually subscribed to my ramblings. I gave myself a little cheer and round of applause. Morning Freeby
Wow - you're a total inspiration! Imagine (or indeed don't - work it out) how much money you've been saving by paying the bills on time. That's got to be worth a pat on the back (or two - let's not be tight with the free stuff!).
And there's nothing sad or lonely about being chuffed that people are reading and following your ramblings (or if there is, you have a vast MSE-community keeping you company...which may cancel out the lonely bit..and oooo, my head...).
To me, it's all twinkly that we're getting 'listened to' on these pages, especially as it's an additional benefit to simply being able to put down your worries etc in a non-judgemental place.
Have a good day at work - and think how much planning and virtual listing fun you can have in your head on the trip to and from work!

I think there are a lot of us on here who will breathe a sigh of relief when we have got through Christmas. It's going to be a challenge so let's cheer each other on.
I still love it, I just hate what it does to my purse;)Debt £26k 18/10/140 -
I love the build up to Christmas, but I'm not usually fussed with the day itself - I tend to be the grand washer-upper wherever I end up! :-)0

Hi
Just popped in. Had a quick skim read of your diary and will subscribe as you have a similar debt to mine - I am not including the mortgage either as that will be gone very soon. I decided not to post a SOA for all sorts of reasons so I admire you taking the plunge. This whole debt busting business seems to have its peaks and troughs and there are days when I really CBA; others when I am fanatical. I guess the aim is to just keep making it go down - however small and in which ever way suits
These boards are great and very inspirational, as you have already found out:)
If you dont mind I will hitch a ride and pop in now and again:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
