APCOA Civil Parking Notice

Hello all
Quick question. A member of my household parked at an APCOA operated railway carpark and paid by phone as I have registered with their online service. However, instead of paying for 3 days they entered 2 by mistake.
When they returned to the car, they found a civil parking notice for £80 or £50 for early payment.
It sounds very unreasonable since a full day's parking is £2.10.
I have read the other posts about ignoring the parking notice but does it make any difference if the payment for the 2 days was made using the phone service?
Thanks for your help

They have suffered a loss of £2.10 as they had no malicious intent to defraud and it was a genuine mistake using cold hands on the telephone keypad then they could sue for £2.10
If these were reasonable people you could send them the £2.10, but they are not, they are Sharks who will smell blood and rip in.
Ignore, stay ignoring and ignore all silly letters threatening all sorts of tosh.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

It makes no difference that you paid by phone. The advice is always the same, ignore them.
If you feel you would like to correct your error, you could try sending payment of the said £2.10 to them but they will probably refuse payment, mainly to keep up the deception that they have and are able to issue you with a 'penalty' for the error. They can't!
These guys are not reasonable, have no moral compass and just want your money, so you should not worry too much about trying to correct a genuine error by engaging with them... because they don't care!0
