Could not log in this morning. Had red text stating that access to account had been changed and phone 0800 number to discuss account. Googled the number and it comes up as Debitas collections ....... !!!!!! !!. Phoned anyway and it seems they are aware they have a systems problem which should be fixed shortly ;)

    Have two Cap One accounts.

I can access one of them with no issue but the other gives the same error as you're getting.

I called them at 08:00 this morning and got through to an agent who informed me that there was no problem with my account, but they are having a technical problem and access would be restored as soon as possible. They could not confirm a timeline.

I was also warned not to use the card until the issue is fixed as it will be declined!!

Since that call this morning, their contact number now says that they are receiving high call volumes and that there is a fault and they are working hard to correct it. We'll see I guess.

The telephone account management bit has stopped working too so cannot get balances over the phone.

Don't know why their number is conming up as 'Debits' for the OP though.

I'm getting the same error message too. I have used the card twice today in shops though and there's been no problem with authorisation.

Thanks, good to know the card seems to be working in shops anyway.

If you google the number it comes up in the phone pest logs as cap1 collections or debitas recoveries who call when you have not paid. Cap1 list the number to call if you cannot pay or are having difficulties. I googled it in case it was a spoof / virus etc.

Still can't access my account but used the card 3 times this morning.
