Tesco have been doing good PC packages for general use.
In my local store they have a Philips PC with a Pentium D processor, 512mb ram and Windows XP Media Centre Addition for £449.
This also includes a cheap ink jet printer, 17" LCD monitor and 2 year warranty.
No good for games but for the other tasks you described it would do fine.
You may want to hold of until February when Windows Vista is released...0 -
Thanks didnt know Windows Vista was out in Feb0

Vista is release on Jan 30th so after that date XP machines may be cheaper.
If your husband is going to play games on it find a game he plans to buy and get the recommended specs for it off the web. That will give you an idea of what sort of machine you will need to buy. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
