Not an offer but it appears that from tomorrow you will now have 30 days to return unwanted items to Argos (instead of the previous 16 days). As previously though there are still exclusions and the items have to be returned unused etc.
This new policy brings Argos inline with most other retailers (PC World, Currys, Woolworths, Tesco etc etc) and could prove useful with the continuous Argos price fluctuations.

Yup, from page 1675 of the new catalogue:
- Most things we sell are covered by our 30 day money back guarantee, so just return them to us unused, in their original undamaged packaging, in a saleable condition, with the receipt and we'll give you a refund.
- If you don't have your receipt, as long as you have proof of purchase we'll exchange the item or give you a refund with vouchers.

LOL.
And did you get one?
Have you looked at page 1675?
What does it say?
The Argos catalogue is like a 'Bible' to me.
I picked up six at 7:10 pm last nightand promptly delivered them to family.
Then I came home and flicked through it's pages, gazing adoringly at the WOW!s and all the new electronics and gadgets.
The wife had to prise it from my hands at 11:00 so we could go to bed :rotfl:
Peace.

I remember last time a new catalogue came out, I was passing an Argos the afternoon before and saw a pallet-load of new catalogues wrapped in cellophane. They had a seal across them saying "not to be opened until the launch day" but someone had opened them anyway and people were helping themselves. I picked one up for myself, but I had a sleepless night convinced I was going to get a visit by the "Argos Police" and arrested for crimes against catalogue shopping. :rotfl:0

The new 30 day limit is good news, it's been 16 days for decades!0

To be honest I don't see what is good about the 30 days return policy. If you don't want something you usually decide straight away. They're not giving you any extra time to use the item because you're not allowed to use it.
The extension is probably so they are in line with their competitors but I think if you give someone 30 days they're likely to put it off because they have plenty of time. Then it's easy to forget about it completly and miss the deadline and it has more time to get damaged and prevent you from returning it. I've done it myself with Tesco's return policy; 28 days seems an eternity, but I put it off and put it off and missed it and I'm stuck with a DVD game I don't want.0 -
I seem to recall that many items in the old 16 day warranty, you were allowed to use and still return them.
This I believe came about because you usually cannot get your hands or eyes on anything at Argos.
I may be wrong ??0 -
Everything I've bought over the last 2 months seems to have a no return policy at all, I didnt think shops could do that if the product is returned within 28days unopened???0

It's been unused for as far as i can remember and i wish that all items with flash/hard drive storage would be shrink wrapped, they could ditch the 30 day exclusions on mobiles,mp3 players etc etc and say if the shrink wrap is opened then non-returnable.
