Siemens Washing Machine Repair

We bought a Seimen's washing machine with a free 10 year parts and labour guarantee four years ago. It was a bloody expensive machine despite trackiing a good discount from an internet supplier, but we'd gone through two wrecked cheaper machines and I had learned more about mending the bloody things than I ever wanted to know - so we had this, frankly great, machine and thought "no worries for 10 years.
Some months ago it started getting noisy on spin and intermitant movement on slow bits - I thought I detected a developing worn bush and a possible bearing problem (I have done both jobs). So we rang the number given.
The first thing is they try and frighten you not to use them. A £50 min call-out if you didn't need them - and a long list of things to check includiing a complete drain and clear of the debris trap. So we did this and it dropped off the radar until I decided again to call. This time the bloke turned up, tried it and told my daughter we were lucky we'd called since it was on the point of total failure and needed a new drum-liner (lookiing at the one that came off) I think this is an integrated bearing in the lining and they do this rather than drift the bearings out). So a weeks wait for the part - annoyance 1 since if they'd listened in the first place ...
Then the day of the big job. I arrive home to find the expected trail of big boots up the hallway - well you can't get a man iin without some mess fair enough. Then the kitchen. Spots of machine oil on the carpet, a filthy cotton towel, a small HOLE in the carpet (big tough Heuga carpet tiles - so we CAN move the affected one) - and the crowning joy - the old part in the garden dumped on all the bulbs coming through. 10 kilo's of plastic and steel drum 3 feet across. At least the machine is working.
So I ring the number and the girl although helpful is just a job allocator. She emails me the main office number and even calls me to check I have it. Fair enough.
I rang the number today. A hositile woman told me I should have reported it straight away. Well I did. The allocator did not take the corerect procedure - so that's MY fault? I have to make another appointment to have the damage checked (yeah i leave filth in the kitchen to wait on an appointment I'll need to take time off for) - and the abandoned drum - well that's my property, we can't take that away can we.
What do you think of this? What happens if I am an arthritic old lady with no car - in a flat - how do i dispose of the drum then? Shall I name names? Has this company got a history?

Perhaps a letter to Siemens explining the woeful service you have received might be in order. Siemens have worked hard to win thieir reputation and I would imagine they will be keen to put things right.0
