Vehicle Checks

Hi there,

I am looking to buy a car from Evans Halshaw. Its a 2 year old car within the manufacturers warranty.

I am looking to perform a vehicle check which Evans Halshaw will do for £99.

Am I better off going to places like this:
https://www.vehiclecheck.co.uk/VehicleCheck2/?persist_affiliateID=502&persist_SubscriberID=101716&AutoLocateID=3AC835B5350528607B9278BD

What's the risk with the car. Am I likely to need to do the check at all?

Thanks,

AMO

If I was buying a newish car from a main dealer, I would save my money. They need to do the checks, not you.

Firstly, I would not let the people selling something to me do the checks.

Secondly, as with anything else you should shop around for the best deal, £99 seems rather expensive to me.

    Hi.

Thanks all. Went with Experian AutoCheck in the end. 5 searches for £25.

I wouldn't have even bothered. Its their problem if you later find out it has been a write off or stolen. You would effectively end up having had a car for free.

Unless Evans Halmshaw have changed their policy they used to insist you had their check at £99. Nothing but a con as they would have done the check when they aquired the car. I'm sure I read somewhere the matter had been reffered to Trading Standards
