OMG! Well done to you all.
I had myself all geared up for Saving £5k but I'm not so sure now I can do it. Been saving for my wedding which on 20th July and I save £800+ per month however every month something needs paid, So not sure what my total stands at as I type, think it could be £1200. I'll check tonite and update my sig.
Again, just want to say well done to all the happy savers

I don't have anywere else to post this but I have to rant...
I moved my ISA from one product to another (same provider but better interest rate for 2012/2013) and lost one month's interest for the sake of one day!! If they had waited until 1st/2nd April to do the transfer instead of doing it on 31st March I would have been approximately £9 better off! The old product was a monthly interest ISA where if you withdrew from it or closed it during any month apart from December you lost that month's interest. I can't believe I missed it by just one day though, I am so disappointedI had the opportunity on the form to state what date I wanted it transferred but I stupidly didn't think to put 1st April!
I am now proceeding to try to get over it, just had to voice it to someone...

Is it too late to join.....
.
I'm 1 year into saving for a house/flat deposit, fees etc and aim for 10k this year.
Beginning of Jan my pot stood at 21,717
Savings so far:
Jan - £1100
Feb - £1000
March - £830
= £2930/£10000
This would make me above target currently, but my expensive months are yet to come

I've been away from this thread a bit but I come to report a good total for March, £1012.47!
I'm feeling quite pleased as it's over my monthly target of £834 - I still have to check whether it brings me back on track on my quarterly plans as I was behind in February and January.
Also I still need to do a lot of work on culling my spending - the higher total is mainly due to the fact that now that I have my savings account organised I can add some "dormant" money that wasn't earning interest to them.
I thought I was working so hard on cutting my lunch money spends, I still have a lot of long term items that may help future months' spending totals to be a little bit lower, but overall I should do better.Saving £10,000 in 2013: £4491.48/£10,0000 -
Another £850 into the fund, I think some of it may have being spent though on Bridesmaid dresses & our wedding invites but the thats what the money is budgeted for and it has zero impact on our monthly budgets!
My regular saver matured last week, opened up another one for £250 per month with a 6% rate, better than the 4% last year. The £3000 + interest I saved last year has being set aside and will probably form the beginnings of our next house deposit!
Glad to see everyone doing well!Millionaire in Training

£3,000+ interest....how much cash do you have?? I remember the name "minted matty", i have likely asked you before. I was planning on being in here for 2012. I however reevaluated and i have been paying down the debts first. Things have changed again and i need to get as cash rich as possible, as soon as possible. So i am going to have to do everything i possibly can to get back on track and hit the £12k in 12.
Right now i am at about £2,000 so need £1,250 a month for the rest of the year, then i will manage to pay down debts again.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Well done everyone wiith your March totals and keep going!
I filled in the form the other day to update my March total of £294 but never got around to writing a post. I feel like my savings are growing sooo slooowly! Things keep getting in the way like buying new fencing to stop the terrible terrier from escaping! Despite this my OH and I have decided we need to travel a bit because we always put it off by saying we 'don't have any money'! So tomorrow I am going to book tickets to download festival (which we have been saving for), book a mega cheap mini break to Bath and start looking at a holiday next Easter! Eek! I might actually have to spend some money!

Well done everyone for your savings this month!
I got my bonus this month, which has certainly helped the coffers for the wedding fund at the end of the year.
Declaring savings of £4,074 this month, which when added to Jan + Feb totals £7,493. Delighted that I'm over halfway there to the £12k target, but this month was a total one off so I would imagine my savings will be back nearer to my target £1-1.5k a month going forwards.
Keep it up everyone, will help cure your New Year's hangover when you look at your bank balance on 1st Jan13!!0
