3-rate electric meter in my new flat!!
Hello Experts,
I have recently moved to a new place and its fully electric with storage heaters. As the meter is kept locked by the flat maintenance company and we can ask them to get individual reading for flat.
Now He has provided me three reading !! i.e rate-1, rate-2 and rate-3. I know of dual rate but never heard of 3. Does anyone know anything about it?
Another query is that there is no timer for my water storage heater, but just two manual switches connected to two heating prongs in the boiler. So do i need to manually turn ON/OFF during the night or there could be some automation inside it.
Thanks

Hi
You should find the third reading is the other 2 added together. Sometimes companies can have totaliser tariffs, which would use the third reading instead of changing meter for a 1 rate meter. Regarding the timer I wouldnt really like to guess by the sounds of it you have a manual set up, it may be wired into your timeswitch, Unfortunately unless you happen to get someone on the phone who really knows there eco 7 set ups your not likely to get an answer from supplier. May be best to ask landlord or try to work out yourself. Would have thought there is a timer involved somewhere.0 -
