Mobile phone insurance warning

Options
Apologies if this has been posted before.
My wife and I followed the advice from Martin Lewis to have our mobile phone insurance put on our household insurance. About a year after taking out the insurance, my wife dropped her 3 month old iphone down the loo. It was a write off. Never mind I thought, it's insured.
On contacting Esure to make a claim they told us that we were not insured because they no longer insure mobile phones that are used for business purpose (we are both self employed). They said that amendments were sent to us. I remember reading it but saw nothing about mobile phones and business use.
I fail to see the difference between using a mobile for business or pleasure!!!!!
They have used yet another pathetic excuse not to pay out!!
