This week went a bit hit and miss over the weekend! Pregnant woman whims and all that, but after a revamp I managed to get us back on track...
NB. I have Insulin Resistance and therefore eat a Low Gi/GL diet, so sometimes the boys eat different or altered meals (I don’t want people to think I cater for fussy eaters!)
Friday - LO Pesto Pasta (Pork Chop and Cauliflower Cheese for me)
Saturday - Burgers (and chips for the boys)
Sunday - Pork Shoulder with Cauliflower Cheese (and mash for the boys)
Monday - Pork Sausage Casserole (w/ potatoes for the boys)
Tuesday - LO Pork Shoulder with Cauliflower Cheese (and mash for the boys)
Wednesday - [STRIKE]LO Sausage Casserole[/STRIKE] :silenced: 'if it'
Thursday - Pizza (and chips for the boys)
Hope everyone has a great week x

We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

Another week gone - where does the time go?
My plan for last week went totally to pot after two days, thanks to an Open University essay that took precedence over everything, so there are a couple of items on this week's plan which are familiar from last week.
Friday - takeaway pizza. Naughty, but I've had a bad week and when a BOGOF voucher landed on my doormat I couldn't resist.
Saturday - brisket chilli with HM guacamole (new recipe)
Sunday - feta, bacon and squash tart (new recipe)
Monday to Thursday -
cheese and tomato pasta bake
fishcake with pesto veg and HG new potatoes
squash, chorizo and bean stew (low carb)
bean curry, veg pakoras and naan bread
I plan to make some soup over the weekend for lunches next week, as I've had far too many days this week when I've bought lunch rather than taking one with me.0 -
I am making myself sit here until i've done a plan and posted it as have been slacking for the past few weeks. I sorted my freezer out again earlier this week, so I have a list of everything in there, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
Monday - at college - I generally have a bigger lunch and some biscuits or something when I get back
Tuesday - baked potato with cheese and beans
Wednesday - [STRIKE]pasta with chicken and pesto sauce[/STRIKE] had chicken with spinach in tomato sauce as had some spinach to use
Thursday - at college
Friday - [STRIKE]quesadilla with caramelised red onion, pepper, cheese and whatever else I fancy[/STRIKE] had an indian 'takeaway' from Asda
Saturday - [STRIKE]sausage rigatoni[/STRIKE] quesadilla with caramelised red onion, pepper, cheese and whatever else I fancy
Sunday - [STRIKE]thai chicken cakes with sweet chilli sauce[/STRIKE] roast chicken etc. (kinda....using a chicken breast rather than a whole chicken)Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

This is such a useful thread, I regularly browse through for ideas and like some of you always try to include a new to me recipe. I was being really good for a few weeks but recently have deviated from the plan on loads of occasions, but because I have gone over budget and still have a couple of weeks to go I will be using up meals that are already in the freezer and/or have the ingredients in the cupboards.
Sun - Chicken Curry
Mon - Shepherdless Pie
Tues - Sausage Roll, beans, mash
Wed - HM Vegetable Pizza
Thurs - Khicheri, (new to me)
Fri - HM Pasta Bake
Sat - Cheese & Onion Tartlets0 -
undecided on days as depends what Mr Gin is working. Also some dinners from this week have been pushed back to next week as I didn't have time this week.
paella
chicken and chips
seafood spaghetti
bangers and mash
veg chilli and rice
sacla sauce and pasta
roast dinner on Sunday0 -
Well last week didn't go well with a lot of the dinners being changed, so this week will probably look similar to last week where I try and use things up that we didn't eat.
Mon: Prawn and pea risotto
Tues: Bean chilli with nachos
Weds: Lasagne and salad
Thurs: One pot chicken pilaff
Fri: Fish finger toastie/toast and spaghetti hoops
Sat: Jacket potato with chilli/beans
Sun: Beef roast with all the trimmingsGrocery challenge: May £246.29/£250, June £385/£200, July £400/£300, August £198/£200, September £128.53/£120

Well, this week was an improvement on last:o but went wrong when DM kindly brought me some turkey and kidneys on Monday (not complaining, honest!:D).
I'm struggling to put anything down at the minute as no veg in at all and will be stuck for that until Tuesday (can't wait to be able to get to the SM again).
So..... subject to change:
Sat - chicken risotto (never got around to this the other week)
Sun - Spal bol (freezer)
Mon - at DMs:)
Tues - hopefully will come home with a "doggy bag";)
Weds - Mince & mash (incl swede & carrots)
Thurs - Pasta of some sort
Fri - Chicken curry (freezer)
Still unsure of which days of the week to run from/to: Sat seems good as I often batch cook at the weekends when I've more time but as I don't shop until Sat (usually), it's difficult to say before I've done this - any ideas?Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -

Hi all,
here's our menu for this week. Had a massive veg craving this week, so it's time to get back to normal after too many nibbles-oriented social gatherings.
Monday: Lettuce and bean risotto
Tuesday: Stir-fried smoked tofu, broccoli and chili with noodles :j
Wednesday: Malay sambal with rice
Thursday: Roast garden veg with caper mayonnaise
Friday: LO sambal, followed by fruit salad and chat masala
Saturday: Ojja
Sunday: Pea, spinach, gram flour and curd...thing, which tastes an awful lot better than it sounds.
Lunches will be the usual mixture of leftovers and hummus or butter bean and mint spread sarnies, with the odd yoghurt and piece of fruit thrown in to stave off the mid-afternoon munchies.
Wishing everyone a really enjoyable week,
C&Y0
