problems with printer ink

Hi guys, i am hoping soneone can help me out here, I have an epson sx200 printer, I have compatable inks in it at the moment, but have used these for the last 2 years, but it has run out of the yellow, i have tried to replace the cartridge and it keeps giving me the message that the cartridge is not compatible, although i know for a fact that it is. Every time i try to print something off it keeps coming up with a warnig box telling me that the ink is not recognised.
How can i bypass this warnig sign and carry on printing, as this is an identical ink to the one i have taken out, i have also tried to put the empty cartridge back in but it still keeps on displaying this message.
Any ideas please guys?

When you switch it off, removing the power lead from the printer for a couple of minutes can help

Ink in for 2yrs! might try cleaning cartridge contacts with pencil eraser (not making good contact when fitted)

It's a typical Epson SX series trick, the printer will often tell you that a non OEM cartridge is incompatible, usually taking the cartridge out and re-installing it does the trick, it may take a couple of attempts.
