I have frozen roasted meat in the past when we have had too big a joint and although it didn't do us any harm it wasn't as nice once it was defrosted.
What about making the excess into a stew or curry - it would keep in the fridge for several days and probably see you through the week. Or if you don't want to eat lamb for a whole week, things like this usually freeze quite well.
THTOh dear, here we go again.0 -

i will make the rest as you say into curry & stew then freeze it, otherwise i'll be sick of it after a day or 2 lolIt only seems kinky the first time.. :A0 -

If it was raw, when last frozen, it will be fine to freeze again once cooked.0

yes of course you can. If cooked I freeze in portions and in fact tonight we had pre-Xmas lamb sliced and in freezer before defrosted during today. Lovely with with veg, gravy and mint sauce.0

I also bought the one in Sainburys. Had it for tea it was lovely. Will do another two days for 4 of us. Curry tomorrow and hotpot Sunday.

Yep, you can refreeze anythign once it's cooked and cooled.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Not read what others have said, but we did a huge leg of lamb in oven before Xmas (too big for slow cooker). Portioned and froze and did the gravy too in tubs. Had last portion as a roast dinner last night and was lovely! Did a bit of mint sauce, veg etc.

Just skimmed this thread.
Jennyjelly - we have never had a problem with frozen meat. We often cook big joints, sclice and freeze. Sometimes do single portion for DH as now retired and he has with salad for lunch. He has never complained!
