Chepstow

Hi,

I have the chance of a cheap stay at the Marriott at Chepstow in June. Its for the wife me and a little 2 year old boy.

What do people recommend to do in the area.

I see Longleat is about an hour away. Does this sound correct?

Cheap deals and Tesco points deals welcome!!!!

Best regards

Baz

Chepstow has its own castle to visit for a start. Cardiff isn't too far away along the M4 & is a lovely place to visit. Just up the M5 at junction 14 or 13 there's the wildfowl trust (remember you have to pay to get back into Wales unless you go the scenic route back through Gloucester). Ignore Severn Beach - sounds great, but isn't (apologies to any residents there).

Great horse racing track there. Look to see if there is any racing happening. Kids under 16 go free.

    Hi
Chepstow is really lovely. You are not far from Bristol Zoo (just over the bridge). Chepstow castle, Forest of Dean, Monmouth, Cardiff, Newport. Loads to see and do and there are loads of great walks and cycle tracks. Look at the welsh tourist board sites and the forest of dean tourist site.

In the Forest of Dean there's a Maze place (sorry can't be more helpful - lost leaflet!) - think it was called Puzzle Wood?

We (3 Adults!) went there last summer & spent 2 or 3 hrs trying to find our way round & look for all the clues - it's a full-size natural wood puzzle in old (Roman?) lead mine workings & is amazing - very Lord of the Rings ish. There's also an indoor wooden maze.

It's on a farm & is lovely & old-fashioned, with a lovely little tea room.

Then you could do the Castle at Chepstow before/after lunch!
