Gift ideas for Mother in Law

Hi folks,

Hoping to pick your brains and get some ideas for presents for my MIL's birthday (which is in Dec) and her christmas present.

Budget is £25 each gift.

Over the years I have exhausted the route of smellies, wines, PJ's, dressing gowns, perfume, purses, gloves/scarfs & tops/jumpers.

Is there anything at all I can give her I have not given her many times before??

TIA

Can I just appeal to everyone who is trying to come up with gifts for Parents, Grandparents, older family members etc!

    Please! no more Photos/Frames/Albums etc!

Every Christmas, my friends and I have a laugh about it (and a groan!) as the topic arises and hints are dropped (from adult sons and daughters) about more photos to find places for.

We all love our families dearly and don't want to upset anyone but there are only so many photos that a wall or a shelf can take. :)
  • I once got my M I L a voucher for the theatre so she could have a night out
  • If she is anything like mine..... acctualy better not put what I was going to say.

Maybe get her a voucher for a shop she likes so she can pick something she wants?
  • We did once get MIL & FIL a voucher for a nice restaurant... but they lost it! :( We did manage to contact the restaurant and they were nice enought to honour the voucher but I dont think many shops would be so considerate....
I will look into the theatre voucher/tickets though.
    Thanks! :) x

mine apprecated a yearly magazine subscription
(cost nothing as I used our tesco rewards..... lol)

  • MIL said the best gift we got her was a magazine subscription. (we paid for hers at whsmiths as tesco didn't have the one she wanted) She has dropped hints that she would like one this year, but we can't afford (and don't have enough tesco vouchers). So definately worth looking in to.

I know some people are saying no photos but I received a Calendar with each month having my grandaughters photos on and I loved it. Hoping for another one this year. Its much nicer than having lots of photos in frames hanging around.

I bought my MIL a photographic clock. She loved it.

I have also bought beauty shop vouchers. They went down well too.

Ironically that is about the only thing my MIL is really interested in!
