Insurance renewal £400 more than last year!!
Options
Had a minor ting into a parked car in April, but didn`t think itd cost me an extra £400, especially as I have 4 years protected no claims..
However after 2 hours of online research, got it down from £789 to £380 with another company!!
Absolutely astonished how they can justify charging so much!!
Happily phoned up to cancel and they could only knock £80 of the renewal price so told them to cancel my policy!
Shocking!

Youve told them to cancel your policy, do it in writing too. Recorded delivery.
Yu have no idea how many posts come on saying I rang them and they have still taken it.
By the way, do you mean you are not renewing it when the time comes round. Big difference in the wording.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I passed my test 4 years ago
1st year on my old Xantia - £300
2nd year on my Rover -£440 mm ok its a newer car
3rd year on my Rover -£530 err
4th year on my Rover - £660 ??? !!!!!!
and this is after doing the shopping around.
No tings, no claims just approaching 5 years no claims as I had insurance when I was a learner as well.
Someone said try comprehensive as its cheaper - mm yeah £1000 odd
I am 35 btw not 17! !!!!!! is going on with iunsurance.0 -
My renewal came through a few weeks ago, up by £317 to £858! No accidents or convictions during the year, so no obvious reason for the rise. Contacted them by e-mail (Internet only no phone) offered zilch and no explanation.
Have not yet decided who to go with this year but have got quotes down around to last year figure elsewhere.0 -
You did declare the minor claim to the new company though didnt you? If not expect a bill for the
extra very soon. Any claim puts you at a greater risk for future claims.
And forgetting to tell them about them doesnt go down well.
Read the posts on here where people have had the premiums hiked or the policy cancelled because
they failed to notify them of all claims and ancidents where no claim was made.

Of course I told them!!!!
They just don't view it as that much of a problem as my original insurer did!

You don't have to even make a claim, even if you just asked them if it was worth making a claim they would still have upped your price, they consider any inquirey to be as good as a claim.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
