Santander Credit Card?

in Credit cards
I was just wondering how strict Santander were on their credit checks for a credit card if you have held a current account with them for years?
It says at the start, make sure you don't have any ccjs or your not bankcrupt which neither apply to me, but what about a default and a few missed payments?
Anyone else had any experience of being in this situation?
I really want a credit card just to build my credit back up again as i need a good credit rating as we are getting married in 2 years time and want to get a mortgage.
Thanks

think the default may kill itDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

easiest way is to go into a branch and ask..I thought I had no chance but they said i was pre-approved. They have the info on their screens, no need even for a credit check if you go into the branch
depends when your default was though I suppose0 -

yes.they offered me TWO cards with 4k limit on each!!! :rotfl:
I was completely amazed as less than 12 months ago I couldn't even get a vanquis card!
I declined thier offer and took 1 with a much lower amount just for a BT
But I don't have any defaults...
My point was, its worth a try asking in branch...you have absolutely nothing to lose.0 -
