  • Thats because your editing index.htm. Try web forwarding and https://www.mywebsite.co.uk/index.htm will come up when you type https://www.mywebsite.co.uk if thats what you want.
  • Are there any other index files that it could be using instead? I'm not sure what the order of preference is, but I mean if you had..
    index.html
    index.htm
    index.php

etc, it might be using .html as the index and not the .htm that you are updating. I think "default"(possibly with any ending) counts as an index page as well. Though I'm probably wrong on that one!

Alternatively, have you tried "hard" refreshing, when you hold down control and press F5, rather than just just pressing F5. This forces it to download from the web server again rather than just using your ISP's cache.

hi, there is only one index file which named index.htm, i know a bit about web design and have a few websites but never encountered this problem before

Will try removing the cookies pressing f5

    will give that a try:T
  • Still cant get it, i always thought the home page ran of the index.htm
  • Try ctrl f5, f5 doesn't always do a full refresh. ctrl f5 should reload everything to do with the web page. eg images, scripts, and stylesheets
