British airways hand luggage allowance?

A friend of mine is flying worldtraveller + to miami in april and is under the impression that her hand luggage allowance will be 23kg!
I thought that hand luggage was more or less 5-10kg as standard because of safety issues and also so it is able to fit into the overhead compartment, looking at the ba website it does seem to indicate that hand luggage is 23kg?could this be a misprint?
has anyone travelled ba recently and can confirm what the allowance is?(my friend has limited internet access)
TIA

looks like it isn't a misprint.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Yes, as long as the size is within the dimensions, but you must be able to lift the bag into the overhead locker unaided (this is also for world traveller, not just wt+)
Bag drop person just had a quick look at our hand luggage (rucksacks, well within size limits) but never mentioned weighing it at all.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Easyjet allow you to stuff in as much as you can get as long as it is within dimentions. Almost all U.S. carriers allow something like 50 Lbs. in hand luggage, you should see what goes on board them flights. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

As others have said its the size that matters not the weight0

I've really missed a trick then!
I've been on loads of us flights and just assumed that all these large cases had only 5-10kg in! i'm actually a bit:o0 -

Yeah, for some reason VS has a very low allowance. Makes me wonder how you would cope if you wanted to take all of your valuables in hand luggage with them. Camera, camcorder, laptop, ipads/pods/jewelery. good job they never weighed our hand luggage last time we went with them:DHave they all been with BA?
