External Hard Drive Media Players

Hey everyone!
I am looking into buying an external hard drive that is also a media player but don't understand a lot of the technical speak...so can someone recommend one to me??
I would prefer the media player to have built in memory (at least 500GB, preferably 1TB though) be able to play all types videos and music on my TV as well as store documents.
I don't mind if the player doesn't have built in memory and i have to buy the memory (can you recommend that to?) as long as it works out cheaper than buying it all together.
Also, I only have £100 at most to spend, the cheaper the better as long as it is GOOD!
