Incapacity Benefit/ESA

Hi, I have been on Incapacity Benefit for years as I have CP, AS, depression and I just recently read about they are changing it to ESA? (though I haven't got a letter or anything about it yet)
I am worried I will lose my Incapacity/benefit Money.
Can anyone re-assume me as I have read about David Cameron talking about getting people back in to work? or doesn't this effect me and he's talking about other people who don't need help and the people who do will still get it? I am incapable of work due to my disability/illness and have no qualifications for a job.
I have also been rewarded DLA for life at high rate and on income support.
Thanks

You're on a wind up right? Someone who claims to have such a poor life, can certainly afford the high end consumer goods you talk about on the other forums. Most people could only dream of an Imac or a top of the range Sony TV. I cannot see how anyone in benefits can look to buy these items.
I suggest you get off your behind and get some sort of qualifications, because you will need it when they stop your benefit and make you get a job!

My understanding is that people on IB will be changed over to ESA and will have a medical before that happens. You might or might not be found fit for work; if you are found to be able to work, it might be in a limited capacity.
ESA is in two groups and I'm not very well informed about weither of them, so hopefully somebody else can give more detailed an accurate information. The Support group is for people who are not expected to be able to work. The Work Related group is for people who are expected to have some capacity for working, but will receive further help and advice regarding suitable employment. For example, a wheelchair user might be able to get office based work if they have training, but they are unlikely to be able to take on a job such as a delivery driver or binman.
DLA is no longer awarded for life and all adult claims will be reviewed over the next few years. It will no longer be called DLA, but will instead be a Personal Independance Payment (PIP), which has slightly different criteria. again, there may be a medical to attend.
I don't know if the same medical can be used for ESA and for PIP, or whether they will be separate and independant of each other (as they are assessing slightly different things).
Many people are worried about the changes, so you are not alone, although I appreciate that this doesn't help you. There are a number of threads about both ESA and PIP, and several contain links to further information.0 -

As for the other person calling me a troll. I save up most of my money because I don't have much of a social life going out due to my disability so in-house entertainment is my life/replacement for that. I am going to college to try to get qualifications but it's not as easy as you think.
It's none of your business anyway. Either answer the question or don't.0 -

If you post on a public forum, you make it everybodys business, if you don't want people to comment, dont ask questions. you cant dictate what someone says or doesn't on a public forum.
Good luck in getting your qualifications, perhaps it will lead to some sort of paid work for you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

But it's not even about the topic. I wanted some help not people to judge me when they don't know me and my problems/situation by just reading my post history.
Thanks.
Do you know if there are any jobs available for people with no qualifications and what they are to prepare myself? It's not like I'm not willing to try to work if i have to.. but if they deem my disability not as severe with this new benefit (like I read it's only going to be for people in wheelchairs) then of course I'm worried as I was told it's indefiantly so I had that re-assurance growing up but now I'd like some help as I worry alot.0 -

Everyone seems to think indefinite means forever, it just means till it changes, ie the time you were awarded it for was not definiteDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. What kind of qualifications are you aiming for.
Please dont take offence at my question but was the reason you started to work for these qualifications that you actually wanted to work
I have no idea of yur disability and only know that yu are in a wheelchair. There are thousands and thousands of people with and without qualifications who work at something, make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I.T, but that will probably take years to get the qualifications to be able to get a decent job for..
I wanted to learn something, as i didn't want to rely on benefits all my life as things could change as they are now (you are relying on the goverment paying you money and not yourself), but before i was a kid (I'm only 22) and didn't understand as much as I do now I thought it would last forever before.
I'm not in a wheelchair, but I read the new disability called PIP (?) I think is aiming towards people who are more severe like that? or is that just to scare people?
What sort of job/advice can you give me on what jobs to look for? I am willing to try to work if I have to, even if it's for the minimum wage
I have seen job applications forms for the likes of Tesco, Mcdonalds etc but they all ask for previous experience/qualifications and it seems a little daunting like you feel if you don't have them you will be overlooked?
Should I worry about this now or at a later date if my benefits do stop as I might be worrying for nothing?
Cheers for answering0
