Within the first week they attempted to switch to EDF
EDF have only just got back in touch saying they were unable to switch, even after sending a load of paper work through and also setting up online accounts etc
They have got quite a lot of evidence showing they only moved in, in May. Tenancy, council tax bills, sky accounts, water bills etc etc
I hate how a lot of people on this site as very quick to jump on the accusing foot. I'm I am here for advise, not to be judged.
Yes, because EDF correctly attempted the switch. The existing supplier would then have rejected it because your friend had not opened an account with them and there was debt on the account.
It should be obvious that you cannot switch away from a supplier that you don't yet have.
Your friend will need to prove their start date, open an account, get rebilled, clear the debt that has accumulated under the deemed account-and then switch if they wish.No free lunch, and no free laptop

£320 warrant line sounds like a charge for appklying for & executing a warrant to fit a pre payment meter. Is there currently such a meter fitted?
As already said you need to contact the supplier & notify them that you / friend moved in in May, the reading at the time (assuming you have it) etc. Obviously you will need to make some sort of arrangement to pay what is correctly owed.
If you have any difficulties it may be worth contacting Consumer Focus for assistance.0 -

Nope, just a standard meter
Thanks for the advice. We have a reading from when they moved in, and lots of proof that they've only been there since May0 -
Then they may be just about to fit a PPM so the supplier needs contacting very very quickly.geordie_ben wrote: »Nope, just a standard meter0
