Lol no need to be so cryptic, becoming a running theme
in the TESCO threads, there you go I said it, if I say it 3 times
will the TESCO man come to get me like in the candyman
films? Is that why TESCO names are written in code, so the
TESCO man doesn't know where to find people?
Drats now I've gone and done it, I hope the TESCO man does
come to get me, he can bring my bloody shopping at the same
time.
i think the op was just trying to get us grabing the bargains before tesco cottoned on. they keep a eye out on threads and if they can't google the word tesco then we getting a better go at keeping one step ahead. not need to "try" and be funny.0 -
I can confirm it works. I just bought 4 of them yesterday. It was £1.79/each, and took of £4 altogether. This "glich" also works on meat deals (I mean buy 3 for £10, 4 for £12), if you lucky enough to find 3 of 4 of them. Months ago the strawberry came with free cream, and I found reduced strawberry and I bought the cream as well and it came for free. But I tried ready meals what was 2 for £6, and didn't get any further reductions.
So keep your eyes on it and have a try.0 -
not sure if this is actually a grabit more an ongoing offer
If this help the discount on a multi buy will currently also apply if the reduced items are part of a variable multibuy (ie 2 for £4 or 3 for £5 ) then you will get a multi buy discount too if it is a simple 2 for £5 offer then it does not work
had worked a while on the Meat and also eg the Tapas multibuys, not been paid YET to take them away but recieved 3/4/6 for very little!
but worth taking into account in the reduced fridge when there are enough to get the variable multibuy to work

ooo get you, this isn't some military operation
Tesco really couldnt care less that lose a few grand due to some glitch.
There's no need for blanking out Tesco store names etc, its just, to be quite blunt childish and pathetic.
You really think the Tesco systems don't flag up the glitches as soon as people use them? There's a trend amongst these glitches, they are in the main low price, high profit items, ie Tesco pays next to nothing for them, and in most cases the actual cost of the glitch covers the cost of the items anyway. apart from the ones that really do work out free or pay you to take them away, but those are few and far between.
If you took those blinkers off for a moment and stopped tying to stick it to the man, then you would realise Tesco are playing the game just as much as the people on this site.
Its not a coincidence that Tesco has all these glitches when other supermarkets such as Asda rarely have them.
The marketing people at Tesco aren't stupid, they know they will get more exposure on a site like this and all the others that feed from it than they will ever get from sticking out a 50k TV ad.
You can bet your bottom dollar that they have done their sums and when the tipping point hits that they lose more than the cost of other advertising methods cost they will flick the switch and stop the glitch in its tracks.0 -

Well said, plus if they wanted to keep an eye out for true glitches, they'd just keep the Grabbit page open - doesn't take a genius to work out what the references relate to!

have to agree its a bit ridiculous seeing b!rm!nham and the likes...does wearing a Tesco namebadge render working that out useless???....customers can work it out but staff cant???duh come on....wether they even give a toss is another thing....head office may check for major glitches but instore managers are far too busy wandering about doing nothing to care.bobajob_1966 wrote: »Well said, plus if they wanted to keep an eye out for true glitches, they'd just keep the Grabbit page open - doesn't take a genius to work out what the references relate to!
please enough of the "hidden store names" if i can work out what store it is then guess what???yeah so can they duh ...seems alot of people are trying to be in a online gang lmao.......Pete Doherty and a tub of nutella nom nom0 -
its not that anyone thinks that Tesco staff are too stupid/dim/useless etc to work out what store it is....its because it would take them a lot longer to search for the store and identify the glitches. Yes,many staff are aware of this forum, and many use it...but I dont think theres one in each branch sat with the grabbit page open, refreshing it every few minutes to see whats happening!
I do agree that part of the glitches could be a marketing tool for Tesco (and a good one at that)...but I dont believe that they realise the glitch as soon as it goes through the till...their attitude to DTD on the Barbie toys proves it...along with other DTDs and misprices. If they're not bothered about the low prices on alot of stuff, why do they get their knickers in a knot when you try to buy an 8p casserole dish...or a £1.50 JLS doll?
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!0 -

So called in store misprices on Tesco items could well be a clever part of the Tesco marketing ploy although I'm not sure why there are no corresponding problems on Tesco Direct. Surely the Tesco pricing/computer systems, as the biggest supermarket in the UK, can't be inferior to Asda, Morrisons& Sainsburys?Awaiting a new sig0 -
A big (BLUE) supermarket chain has a range of xmas food currently selling at £3 each but £5 for 2 and £8 for 4.
If you can find any of these in the reduced quick sale shelves grab them in pairs as the savings discount still comes off. Note though, buy them with other shopping so that it isnt so obvious.
Last night I purchased 8 items for 60p each (80%off as shortdated but can be frozen!).
Price 8 x 60p = £4.80
Discount
(£16 for eight instead of 8 x £3) - £8.00
Balance knocked off the rest of my shopping £3.20
Mr Ts reductions used to always do this gone are the days when you could buy two packs of burgers and get £3 odd off your shopping (in my old local they were always reduced burgers or sausages which paid you to take them away) people started taking the mick and taking crates of beer and stuff to the check out and paying a few quid for a load of sausages / burgers and 3 or four crates and boom the offer linking through onto the reductions soon stopped.
I dont think Mr T does always do the glitches on purpose you should have seen the confusion when i bought a bed rail for 60p it was even better when the chopped tomatoes glitch was working they paid you to take them away which doesn't make too much sense to be an advertising ploy it must have lost them a fortune!
oh well i will keep a look out for this short lived woopsie i love the dough balls
thanks OP! x0
