MBNA vigin

Hi I have received a rejection from Mbna saying that i ticked boxes etc on an online application. I have asked them for a copy of this but no joy. The letter states that it was applied to my account on the 16th March 2006. Well I have a copy of the cover certificate dated 31st March 2005 ( a year out) and I phoned them up on the 1st april 2005 to cancel the policy but the sales representative advised me not to cancel and in my ignorance I kept it.
Will I write to them or just forget it.
Any help from you good people.

You should write back to them and state they are wrong regarding the ppi date, ask them for a copy of the agreement that shows you ticked the box in 06,as if you were to accept the fact you ticked the box,you would like proof of this,as this is the reason they declined your complaint.
Tell them they cannot decline your claim on the grounds of the box was ticked,as per the FOS and FSA guidlines that state they cannot do this.
Smitchy has this info and will post the details of these for you.
  • Thank you amersall will try to draft letter.
  • question amersall.....will I state that I have proof that it was 2005 or let them sort it.

Put a copy of the insurance document you have in with the letter.

They did this with me, and sent me a copy of my application, with no mention of PPI on it! I challenged them on it and they are adamant I ticked the box (there is no box on the form!). Ive taken my complaint to the FOS, as they seem to be just rejecting everyones claims.
Debt free and staying that way!
