Hi,

Does anyone know if imessaging from an iphone 4 will be free to send messages to an ipod touch 4th gen from abroad? Would it be necessary to remove the sim to make sure it's not texting instead?

Also,sorry,not very clued up on this yet!,how do you send an imessage to a specific ipod touch when there isn't a "phone number"? Is it just accessed through normal messaging or is there an app?

in the Message app (where you will normally text from) is where iMessage is.
If you can find out your friends apple id email address and make that a contact. When you select your friends email address the area where you will type your text will change from 'Text Message' to 'iMessage' indicating that the message is being send free via iMessage.
Both iPhone and iPod needs to be running iOS 5 and have wi-fi or 3g signal.
