Do I keep my car or get a new one?

Cars will always be a money pit, I was loaded before I passed my test now I am always skint.
The items you have listed are simple things to fix though the power steering leaking could be more - if its only a ropey connector I would change it for new.
I dont check my pressures or oil once a week but give them a visual every now and then at least and I would nose at the oil once a month at least.
Once a week would be the ideal though, crikey once a day for some folks is only sufficient.
As long as the car does what you need it to do you have a reasonable motor there and ford bits are usually cheaper than most.
I have a Rover and you cant get most of my parts (ive been adjusting freelander bits to fit lol)
If you are not a speed addict though and have a high milage I would certainly consider a diesel at some point.
So long as you have a good battery the things seem to withstand almost anything - Diesels are the chuck norris of the car world.
On a petrol your spark plugs go and youve had it, on a diesel your heater plugs go - pour a kettle of water on them and the rascal starts up lol
When we had the bad winter a couple of years back my old banger was starting fine whilst brand new motors were struggling
I think Ill always have a diesel for commuting (and something 60's to play with
