Surely you could also ask to hold onto the gift voucher once its been used in case you decide to return the original item?

Thanks Op. Managed to get a £5 blender from my local AND got the £10 voucher with it. I asked the Sales Assistant if you could only spend it on certain items and she said No, you can spend it on anything.

It comes up on your receipt, after your transaction, its behind your normal receipt

Yes, it should be. It didn't mention it in my reservation. I just got the voucher (like a receipt) with my receipt for the item.
