my daughter received a parking charge notice at centertainment in sheffield a few months ago for parking outside the parking bay.
I advised her to ignore the charge . she has received three letters up to now and she is now recieving telephone calls and texts from roxburghe asking them to get in touch asap. how do they get mobile phone numbers? I just keep telling her to ignore them and don't speak to them or give them any infomation etc. am i doing the right thing?

In order to get rid of them, if she answers the phone to them (don't call them back though, just ignore them) she should say that the 'debt is denied' and they they should now refer the matter back to the management company who appointed them. Then state that any further calls will be treated as harassment and you will inform the relevant authorities, Trading Standards and the OFT should they ever call again. Then end the call, do not get into a debate, just say this and put the phone down.
Also, a good tactic is to pretend to record the call! When she picks up the phone to them and they announce themselves to her, just say "can you wait a minute please" then get her to sort of fiddle with the phone as if she was turning on the record feature (if the phone has one... actual do it) and the tell the other person that you are now recording the call... they will more than likley just put the phone down on her!0
