121CarHire.com Mislead on price

Just back from a great holiday, the only problem was 121Carhire.com. Thye are on comparison websites where they clearly advise "no hidden extras" or you will be advised at time of booking. I was not advised and had to pay an additional 17 Euros for airport fees when i arrived at Paphos from Hertz.

They were not interested in my all inclusive agreement with 121Carhire and I paid it and raised the issue on my return. 121Carhire advised I had been pre warned in my payment screen (not true) and was clearly outlined ibn my confirmation (again not true), I was advised one price and had to pay more. Avoid, avoid, avoid, they clearly have hidden extra's and marketing and advertising is flawed.

They are not interested in rectifying the issue and are clearly not comparible if you are not getting a like for like service. If the pricing was clear I would have gone to another company.

I had similar experience with them. I had to pay extra (14 EUR) for tax altough at the comparison website it was stated "no hidden extras" and that should have been included in the original price. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

One reason I don't hire cars like this is because I believe it is an area where they have you by the short and curlies and are forever ripping you off, safe in the knowledge that you are a long way from home, perhaps don't speak the local language and are completely stuffed if you don't take what is on offer. Avoid.

Was it a tax that the company had any control over? The fact you had to pay it when you picked the car up and not in advance suggests it is a local, or perhaps even regional, tax.

I know some countries have taxes that can only be paid locally and not in advance, sometimes only even in cash.
