My personal thoughts are that you would need to have some sort of contract up your sleeve to start with or some personal experience that will let you do that, otherwise you may as well have put 'I want to start a Ferrari dealership can anyone tell me how to make that work'.

    LOL,
I am in this field and agree with above post. The SIA Licence simply allows you to work as a security operator (bouncer - CP Op). If you want to get involved at a higher level you need to make sure you know what you are doing and how to carry out mass CRB checks on staff etc.
    Good Luck
PS I have a driving Licence I want to start a Ferrari dealership!

    Thanks for your replies,
sorry I did not give much info in the previous post.I have been in the security industry for 3years,and when I re-read the rules governing the SIA licence it stated that it allows the holder to employ people as security guards;owner can work as a supervisor or manager;which doesn't rule out managing my own does it?Just to re-phrase,I am seeking info on marketing, bidding for contracts and other related stuff.
