Took Teddy for his vaccinations yesterday to CH.......Vet picked up the basket, started telling me how bad is it for cat to be THAT overweight, opened the basket, Teddy started coming out and out and out... Vet's eyes poped out at the size of him LOL and realising his size took back the "overweight" bit LOL
He was laughing and asking if Teddy is gonna try to kill him when he starts examination... he proceeded, Teddy cool like cucumber let him spray thingy in his ears and clean those (had very dirty ears), checked his teeth just sitting there and looking at him, no movement... on the scale, my one was correct, Teddy is 7.2, got vaccination (no reaction to needle), took a worming tablet with no fuss.... went back to his basket and the vet was still laughing at this "panther" LOL
Checking the old threads, Teddy was 6kg when I got him and now 7.2 so either my old scale was broken (possible) or he put on 1.2 kg in here...0 -

My beloved Marie was around 5kg when she died suddenly last year. She wasn't overweight, just a big breed - British Shorthair.
Sadly I don't have any photos that show how big she was, but I do have this one of her sitting at the table like royalty.
She loved her family (us) but hated any other people or animals. She was only 6 when she died of a heart defect.0 -
We now have another 2 British Shorthairs and, at a year old, they're showing signs of being big cats too. The vet's assistant said we really should watch their weight when they were weighed at the beginning of the year and one was 3kg and the other was around 2.5kg. She clearly doesn't know that BSHs are a naturally large breed.
I didn't realise it either until the neighbour's tom started coming into our garden after Marie died and I noticed how small he seems in comparison to Marie.0
