Unemployment cover expensive

Hi all,
I'm currently reviewing all my outgoings and one is the Unemployment cover that we took out in Sept 2006 due to my husbands job not entirely risk free.
The premium for the cover is £43.25 pm for a benefit of £961.18.
Do you think this is a high figure? The policy is with AXA Insurance.
Any advice most welcome
Thanks

Hi
I pay £23 for £870 with 60 days excess (2yr cover) - it's always worth shopping around to see if you can find cover cheaper but when doing so bear in mind with a new insurer you will be unlikley to be covered for the first 6 months.
With these policies (like most) it really does depent on the terms attached.0 -
It depends on when the policy kicks in?0

60 day excess would be cheaper than 30 or 45 day.
Also, not all ASU policies are the same. Some can almost be worthless whilst others can be more comprehensive.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
