Sandboxie is one of the best programs for security. Over time it can become the most powerful protection on a home PC as one learns to configure it. The purpose of it is to contain an infection to the sandbox.

The lifetime license is for all computers that you own.

Used to be £31.40, but is currently on offer for £15.70 until the 20th of October.

  • +1 for Sandboxie, as Russ says it's one of the best preventative security apps on the market, with very little impact on memory use, so it won't slow anything down at all. A "must have" on all machines that I set up.
  • I followed the link to the web site but not being a technical person is it possible to explain simply the advantages of this.

    I'll try :)

At it's most basic, you can run your web browser in the sandbox. If you happen to come across any viruses, then at worst the virus will only infect the sandbox. After you wipe the sandbox, everything is back to normal.

I like to use sandboxes to try out new programs, without risking my system.

At its most advanced, it can be a powerful tool to control the programs running on the computer.

Basically..."What happens in the sandbox stays in the sandbox".

Another +1 for Sandboxie here. You can try it for free. Functionality does reduce after 30 days, though it is still usable.
£15.70 is money well spent imo.

That should give you the general idea.
You still have a few days to play with it before deciding.
