Netgear DG834GT with Tiscali

I'm having difficulty with my Tiscali connection which intermittantly drops out, to a greater or lesser degree at all times.
Started before Christmas. Eventually OK at the beginning of Jan, but now as bad as ever.
Tiscali currently investigating with little success at the moment.

I can't find anyway of checking that the fault is not in the router.

Both computers can connect to the router, but the "i" light flashes yellow to indicate no outward connection.

Anyone know if I can check the router?

Ta!

The I flashing yellow means no INWARD connection... Your router wont be in Sync with the line... This happens with netgear routers if they set your speed to high

EG.. you sign up for 8 MB package but max speed you can get is 6MB. you will need your linespeed capped at about 6.5-7MB to help the Sync but keep full speed.

You could always try a manual SNR experiment as well. this will let you know who is at fault..
  • Thanks Scouter,

Is this something I can do or do I have to contact Tiscali?

    Cheers
