Advice on parking ticket

I got a parking ticket from my local council earlier today for parking outwith the confines of the space. I was parked over the boundary between the area resevered for tickets and permits and the area reserved for permit holders only (and i do have a valid residents permit). I have parked in the same space seveeral times and never received a ticket before. Do I have grounds on which to appeal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest going to www.pepipoo.com and posting full details there. Go and take some photos of the bay where you were parked and also take some measurements. If the bay does not comply with the dimensions listed in the Transport Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 then that will be something that you can take up. But the experts in Pepipoo will be able to give you the right advice."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Yes, there are grounds to appeal almost EVERY Council parking ticket but people just don't realise it. Sadly most people just grumble and pay up.
But most people who go to adjudication win, and most people who start a thread for help on pepipoo forum win as well (95% at least IMHO, a loss at adjudication is very rare on that forum).
So register for free, read the FAQs like 'how to post pictures', and read some other threads first to see what to post and what sort of advice most people get:

Start your own topic with pics of the PCN both sides, and pics of where you parked, the lines of the bay and the signs.
Let us know when you win in the end and do not give up at the first hurdle (a first rejection of an informal appeal is par for the course, a game of bluff for most Councils, pretty much whatever the circumstances).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
